As a child, Adrienne always had a passion for and desire to be around horses, but didn't have the opportunity to start riding until she turned 20 as a student at Bowdoin College. After taking a 7-year hiatus and giving birth to her first daughter, Halle, Adrienne returned to riding with KT Horsemanship and quickly realized that she needed horses to forever be a part of her life. Clyde (Covered Call), a Thoroughbred gelding, is her first horse, whom she purchased as a 7-year-old in 2014.
Thanks to the strong and unwavering support of her husband, Pete, Adrienne founded Covered Call Farm in 2020, named after her first equine boy. She has since adopted a Mustang gelding, Safiro, from Horse Protection Association of Florida, a Welsh Cross pony mare, Ivy, from Hidden Pond Farm Rescue, and an OTTB gelding, Mai Tai, from Turning for Home, and is devoted to making the farm a place for others to enjoy as much as she and her family do.
Fifteen-year-old Halle loves any and all animals, including her opinionated 7-year-old Thoroughbred mare, Zeena's Rush, and her beloved Mustang, Safiro, whom we lost unexpectedly in 2024 to pneumonia. She loves to trail ride, jump small cross rails and verticals, and work at liberty with Zeena and pony, Ivy. In addition to her horsemanship skills, Halle has a talent for training cats. Kathy is the star pupil, with a repertoire that includes sit, high five, fist bump, pretty pose, lay down, roll over and jump through a hoop. Kevin is still learning. :-) Halle hopes to be a liberty trainer and live on her own horse farm.
Ivy is a 14-year-old Welsh Cross pony mare, adopted in October 2022 from Hidden Pond Farm Rescue in Brentwood, NH. She has come a long way in her training, as a willing liberty partner for Halle, and has adapted well to her new farm and pasture mates. Ivy is a sweet, sensitive, curious and, at times, opinionated mare.
Pete has been an automotive technician for 40 years, and owns and operates Pete's Automotive Care LLC in Deerfield, NH. He and Adrienne were married August 21, 2021 on the farm. In addition to two stepdaughters, Pete has two grown sons, Tyler, 31, and Cameron, 29. Tyler owns Growth & Gratitude Landscaping based out of Deerfield, NH and Cameron works with Pete as an automotive technician.
Twelve-year-old Kendall is an avid baker, reader, writer, ice skater, and mom to bunnies, Willow and Cashew. Although we said goodbye to her beautiful gelding, Mai Tai, in late 2024, Kendall continues her riding at Moonlight Equestrian Center in Epping, learning to canter and jump small cross rails. She loves spending time with her furr-babies and making memories with her friends. Kendall also enjoys skiing with her mom and camping with the family during the summer.
Kevin (sitting) and Kathy, our two tuxedo domestic long-haired cats, are brother and sister. We adopted them in January 2020 when they were six months old. They love farm life and regularly demonstrate their hunting prowess, but also love to snuggle up to Halle in her bed and sleep in the sun.
Willow, an American Rex, and Cashew, a Holland Lop, were adopted from House Rabbit Network in Westford, MA. They live with mom, Kendall, in her room and love to snuggle, be petted, play with toys, and eat lots of fresh hay and greens. Occasionally, you'll catch them doing zoomies, thumps and flops.
Hamilton is our boarder and joined the herd in December 2023. A 12-year-old chestnut off-the-track thoroughbred gelding, Hamilton is a sweet-natured, happy-go-lucky boy who loves to play, especially with Mai Tai. He enjoys sunbathing in the pasture and cherishes snuggles, grooming and carrots from devoted horse mom, Lauren.
